A safe and touch-free 30 second 3D body image scan is taken of the patient's limb, and a custom immobilization device is made specifically for the patient's unique injury or condition or lifestyle. Removable (like a splint) or fixed (like a cast), physicians are using ActivArmor for both acute injuries and chronic conditions. The exact fit allows the tissues to remain in the desired position for optimal rest and healing, and observation or treatment of skin, post-surgical hardware and incisions are performed easily. The custom design gives doctors the freedom to immobilize or expose ANY specific area, which is not possible with prefabricated devices or over the counter immobilization devices.
A Quick Turnaround! – Patients requiring immobilization for acute injuries without swelling, for chronic conditions, and sports support can be scanned immediately, and will receive their ActivArmor device in as little as 2 business days, allowing them to continue with normal lifestyle activities while healing.
Patients with acute injuries and those requiring post-operative immobilization often have edema, and are placed into a temporary compression splint or bi-valved cast for a few days until their follow-up appointment. Once the swelling has gone down, the patient can then be scanned and returned to their temporary solution until their ActivArmor device is delivered. ActivArmor allows patients to return to more normal lifestyle activities from the post-edema phase of healing through the typical post-cast splinting phase.
NOTE: Some Physician's specialize in upper body OR lower body extremities - and may not prescribe for limbs and/or injuries that are outside of their specialization. Check with ActivArmor Canada for recommendations.

Cost of ActivArmor to the Patient
The cost to a patient may be very similar to custom 3D splints which you may already be prescribing. But the advantages of the ActivArmor device are such that patients can typically see the value of any additional billing, and are willing to accept an upcharge for the many benefits of this solution.
